100 w1 0600 k3

EVGA 100 w1 0600 k3 Review – Pros and Cons

This power supply unit is perfect for a power-hungry machine. If you are a heavy gamer or miner and your machine has a high-end CPU or two different graphics cards, this is one of the best power supply units on a low budget.

Let’s see what makes 100 w1 0600 k3 uniquely awesome.

Pros

Versatility

100 w1 0600 k3 supports up to two different graphics cards, With is 6+2 PCI-E cables it can even power 2 gtx gt 1070 graphics cards. Now you do not need to worry about overpowering your machine and damaging it because of its massive power consumption.

The most fascinating feature of this power supply unit is It draws only the power amount required by your machine. So  100 w1 0600 k3 is even safe to use on old machines that require a bit of less power, without the worries of overpowering and damaging it

Precise Power Drawing

This power supply unit consumes only the amount your pc needs. Non-certified power supplies would not do this, rather they would draw more than required sometimes. But 100 w1 0600 k3 draws only the proper amount of power your machine needs

Powerful on 12V Range

100 w1 0600 k3 provides 588-watt power from 600 V of its initial consumption on 12V rail. There are 3 different rails, 3V, 3.3V, and 12V. Most low-end power supplies cannot provide this much percentage of the wattage when it comes to 12 V rails.

They may provide only up to 60 to 80 percent of their wattage rating. As a result, when you plug in two powerful graphics cards or a high-end CPU you start to have problems. But 100 w1 0600 k3 will provide 588 watts on 12 V rail for high-end graphics card and CPU.

Silent but Powerful

100 w1 0600 k3 has a 122mm fan at the boom. The fan is very silent and operates smoothly. Many low-budget power supplies do not come with this feature, instead, they use two loud 180 mm fans on both sides.

But one is better than two right? No, 100 w1 0600 k3 preferred quality over quantity. As a power-hungry beast, this powers supply has also a powerful cooling fan that can do this job silently from the shadow

Standard and Widely Compatible Design

The 100 w1 0600 k3 has a very compact casing design with a powerful cooling system. Although It is air-cooled the fan on the casing is quite powerful with a speed of up to 2500 RPM. It is a standard ATX size so it can fit in practically any machine case that supports ATX power supplies.

Safe for Old Model Machines or Prebuilds

Even prebuilds from dell, hp or Lenovo can be mounted with 100 w1 0600 k3. For these, a 500-watt version would be enough, but you can use a 100 w1 0600 k3 as their power supply.

Comes with a Warranty

100 w1 0600 k3 comes with a 1-year warranty. Most of the low-budget power supply unit does come with a warranty. Some of them do not work properly right after unboxing it. But this power supply unit comes with 1 year of warranty

Cons

Overheating

Some users on online shops like amazon have posted reviews saying that 100 w1 0600 k3 has some overheating issues. But later been found out that most of them connected the cables wrong and the cooler was not working.

Discoloration

The color of the casing of 100 w1 0600 k3 is a bit less durable and can wear out after a few months of usage. However, If it is properly maintained discoloration takes longer to appear

Packaging Contents

It comes with standard power cables. A tester for your power supply to see if it is working before actually putting it in the machine.

If you want to verify if your power supply is working or not connect the tester to the 24 pin ATX cable then plug it into the wall turn It on, the fan will start spinning.

It also has 4 screws, in case your case is missing some screws, It got you covered.

It also has an 8 pin CPU power cable but this pin splits into two 4 plus 4 pin cables. If you have an older model CPU that uses a 4 pin cable. You do not need to worry at all.

8 pin PCI-e cable which split in 6 plus two-pin cable. So you can use It to connect two different Graphics cards in a cross. Or you can use the whole 8 pins o connect  to the Graphics cards that use 8 pins like GTX 1070

You can use to power both of them would work just fine

It also comes with three Molex cables and a 1x floppy disc connector. This is for very old machines but I am quite sure none of us use a floppy disk drive anymore, however they still provide it.

It also comes with 3 serial ATA power cables and 4 SATA power cables. So you can connect a hard drive, solid-state drive, DVD drive, and much more simultaneously.

Conclusion

This 600-watt power supply is a great power supply if you have two different Graphics cards running on your machine simultaneously, but if you have a single Graphics card machine then 500 watts is enough and we recommend that you use the 500-watt version of this power supply.
